Minimum Requirements

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field and a minimum of 5 years of design experience or 10 years of experience performing as a Site Manager or Construction Manager and be capable of providing complete mechanical design services including preparation of mechanicalsite work drawings HVAC mechanical designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use. This site work may be for new renovation or improvement type projects electricalpowerlighting utility HVAC fire suppression etc.



Must have a secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen

Must possess strong computer skills with the following MS Excel MS Word AutoCAD MS Project

Must be able to live and work on an overseas military base

Must be able to complete HAZMAT hazardous communication and hazardous waste training

Must read write and speak English fluently

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a preemployment substance abuse test



Job Description

The IE Division of URS is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer for employment on in an OCONUS project site. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in all phases of Mechanical Engineering.

Design projects are related to a wide variety of facilities and infrastructure systems including earthwork airfield and roadway pavement systems high and low voltage electrical systems HVAC water and sewage plumbing fire suppression control and alarm systems which will interface with other engineering specializations.



The Mechanical Engineer will provide SOW technical review of design calculations costs estimates analyses drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements. Will manage projects for new construction renovations and improvements to real property facilities utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering airfield runways utility systems base utility plants aircraft maintenance shophangers recreational facilities administrative offices dormitories. Will oversee the work of construction contractors to ensure overall compliance with specifications and schedules.
