About the job

The position of General Utilities Department Manager is a job of a Plant Manager and involves operation and management of various Gas and Steam Turbines and Generators High Voltage Electrical Network Grid Sea Water Desalination Hypo Chlorination Plants Demineralisation Plant and other Water Treatment and Auxiliary facilities.

The duties and responsibilities of this job are of dynamic and critical nature as any power breakdowninterruption would result in complete blackout of the entire Industrial Complex. Highest state of alertness quick and sound decisions and judgements are essential requirements.

The job holder is expected to be expert in his field as it is a specialized area and the incumbent is the ultimate adviser to the Management on all critical issues relating to the Plant.

Highest level of interpersonal skills are prerequisite as the job holder has to liaise with all surrounding Industrial Operating Companies as well as with regional power and water corporations.

Purpose Of The Job

Manages and directs the operation of General Utilities Plant Power Generation Water Production facilities and Electrical Grid and other distribution networks which generate Electrical Power 700 MW Capacity produce DistillatePotable water 60000 M3day in addition to other Utilities for major Ruwais Industrial consumers OPCOs and Ruwais Housing Complex to ensure that all various Utilities are distributed to all consumers within the required specification and tolerance at optimum operation cost and in strict compliance with companyrsquos HSE guidelines and objectives.

Assists higher Management and provides advicerecommendations on all aspects of operational matters and the resources required.

Holds full accountability for the overall Plant reliability stability and availability of all vital and critical utilities to al industrial and nonindustrial consumers.

Leads and directs major units shutdown and changeover activities to ensure sustained plant readiness and prepared alternativescontingencies.

Plans and directs implementation of Capital and Operating Budgets to sustain and extend availability of utilitiesproduction that meet current and future Company commitments towards OPCOs and other clients in the region.

Manages the training functions in the department to achieve the companyrsquos objectives on highest qualification of all operational staff with special focus on Nationalization targets.

Minimum requirements.

1. B.Sc. in Electrical Mechanical Engineering.
