Lead Technical Safety Engineer

Brief Posting Description

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Technical Safety Engineer on a full time residential basis located at our corporate offices in Abu Dhabi. This is a Home Office position based in Abu Dhabi but it may involve occasional visits to the Client offices andor site in Kurdistan. Normal working time will be 45 hours per week 9 hours per day. The project is the EPC phase of a new Oil amp Gas facility to be constructed incountry. Reporting to the EngineeringProject Manager the candidate will assume sole responsibility for all Technical Safety engineering scopes.

Detailed Description

• To have singlepoint responsibility for all technical safety deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client?s policies and procedures.


• To ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet the asset operational needs


• To provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to technical safety.


• To participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.


• To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule


• To liaise with the Client?s Engineering Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion


• To promote safe behaviour at all times.


• To act as the Technical Authority on all matters relating to Technical Safety engineering


• To participate in project HAZOP HAZID SIL studies and Peer Reviews.


• To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.


• To coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development construction precommissioning and startup.


• To provide technical support to site as required.


• To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress andor quality and recommend corrective actions as required.


• To attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the EngineeringProject Manager.

  • Thorough awareness of international codes and standards
  
  
  • Experience of coordinating HAZOP HAZID IPFSIL Classification studies and Peer Reviews
  
  
  • Experience of directing Management of Change MOC reviews
  
  
  • Able to perform Quantitative Risk Assessments QRA as required.
  
  
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
  
  
  • Proven capability in an engineering design company
  
  
  • Previous experience of sitebased project work involving field engineering construction commissioning operations or maintenance would be an advantage
  
  
  • Experience of working with multinational and multicultural project teams is strongly preferred
  
  
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
  
  
  • Previous experience working in a Lead role essential.
