Life Technologies are currently recruiting for a Staff Scientist to work within Manufacturing Sciences at their Warrington site. This role is primarily a technical knowledge leader supporting Life Technologies' Human Identification and Pharma Analytics products.
It will be responsible for troubleshooting existing products leading continuous process improvements as a team member or through individual and collaborative studies and responsible for supporting new product development and transfers
The role
Acircmiddot Work with teams to plan and design experimental methods to achieve technical objectives as well as identify and solve problems in experimental design materials and operational processes.
Acircmiddot Direct high quality development strategies based on molecular biology biochemistry and analytical methods. Product development and process improvement areas include but are not limited to Real time and Quantitative PCR Short Tandem Repeat STR based human identification technology Proximity Ligation Assay PLA based antigen detection next generation sequencing and various analytical techniques.
Acircmiddot Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects.
Acircmiddot Approachplex issues by bringing statistical rigor to structured problem solving. Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in developing and selecting methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Acircmiddot Interface with other departments Marketing Product Management RampD Licensing Business Leads and Development Legal Quality Technical Service and Manufacturing to coordinate product development and improvement.
Acircmiddot Direct and control the activities of multiple projects
Acircmiddot Ensure budget schedule and performance requirements are met
Acircmiddot Work closely with RampD and Product Management using the Product Commercialization Process to develop new products that meet customer and manufacturing needs
Experience required
Acircmiddot Masters or PhDlevel degree in scientific or relevant engineering discipline.
Acircmiddot Extensive experience in a biotechnology product development or manufacturing environment
Acircmiddot Track record in applying design and process excellence to new product development and manufacturing.
Acircmiddot Experience in the validation tech transfer andor optimization of manufacturing processes.
Acircmiddot Experience with design of experiment statistical process control and related problem solving tools in the manufacturing environment
Acircmiddot Strong technical writing skills as evidenced by the ability to prepare technical reports product transfer documents clear and effective manufacturing protocols and SOPs.
Acircmiddot Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively evaluate prioritize and lead multiple projects and to work under pressure with strict attention to deadlines and details.
Acircmiddot Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Acircmiddot Excellent knowledge of molecular biology purification and analytics.
Acircmiddot Demonstrated ability of analytical method development to qualify raw materials or intermediates for downstream product applications.
Acircmiddot Track record of problem solving through root cause analysis well designed experiments data analysis and interpretation.
Acircmiddot Ability to develop evaluate and characterize solutions and to implement new procedures into a routine manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Acircmiddot DMAIC Six Sigma Black Belt Design for Six Sigma Black Belt and experience of working with in a GMPISO13485 environment
