Butcher
Job Scope
Cut trim or prepare consumersized portions of meat for use or sale in retail outlets.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• To work closely with Slaughterhouse Manager to maximize the margin per animal.
• Receive inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure meat quality.
• Record quantity of meat received and sale.
• Supervise meat cutters.
• Cut trim bone tie and grind meat to prepare in cooking.
• Display the products in counter so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper’s eye.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by the customers.
• Shape lace and tie using boning knife skewer and twine.
• The role may require some heaving lifting ie large cuts of the meat from store freezer.
• Assist the Bucher Supervisor in other tasks as requested
Skills
Formal Butchery qualification.
At least 5 years of experience minimum 3 years in butchery field in trading andor FMCG company.
Butchery skills.
Meat cutting display costing hygiene control system and procedures.
Understanding of anatomy and familiarity of beef facility operations.
Fluent English language skills written and verbal
Strong leadership skills
Strong comprehension and knowledge of trading andor FMCG Industry regulations and experience in high volume manufacturing practices and slaughterhouse or protein processing or packing industry.
Education
Formal Butchery qualification.
