. >Job Advertisement The United Nations World Food Programme WFP office in Dubai UAE is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy

• Position Title Driver Service Contract for duration of 12 months.
  
  Level SC 2 Under the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant the incumbent is required to perform the following duties and responsibilities

• Drive assigned means of transport for the transport of authorized WFP staff members visitors as per UN safety and security rules and regulations


• Collect and deliver goods mail documents and other items


• Take care of the daytoday maintenance of the assigned means of transport check oil water battery brakes tires and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean requestorder spare parts when required


• Log and submit monthly reports of all official trips daily mileage gas consumption oil changes etc


• Read and understand the vehicle operating manual to ensure the safe and appropriate operation of the vehicle.


• Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.


• Assist and support as and when required the Protocol office representatives PRO with the tasks related to Immigration Department MOFA etc. for processing of Special Entry Visas Visit Visas Residency Visas.


• Respond to queries from staff for anyall allocated tasks by providing available information advice and guidance related to area of work or direct to the most appropriate source


• Assist with registration of new vehicles renewal of insurance car registration opening of official bank accounts medical checks etc


• Identify any apparent problems during daily work activities and report them to the appropriate personnel


• Set up classify and maintain files


• Perform other related duties as required. Academic Qualifications Experience Language required
  
  
  
  • Education Primary school education formal drivers training with a valid UAE driver’s license and clean driving record.
  
  
  • Experience At least two years of work experience as a driver safe driving record experience in driving various makes of cars.
  
  
  • Language Fluency in oral and written communication in English Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage. Required Competencies and Knowledge
    
    
    
    • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
    
    
    • General working knowledge in MS Office email and other applications.
    
    
    • Presents information clearly in oral and written communication. Communicates transparently with colleagues supervisors and clients.
    
    
    • Organizes and plans own routine work. Manages multiple routine tasks. Responds quickly to requests. Seeks feedback on performance.
    
    
    • Shows understanding of the questions and concerns of others. Communicates effectively with all individuals regardless of gender national and cultural background.
    
    
    • Abides by WFP regulations procedures and policies. Interacts fairly and objectively with others. Accepts ownership of and responsibility for own work.
    
    
    • Understands how own work contributes to team objectives. Asks for assistance when work assignments are unclear and incomplete and works cooperatively with others as opposed to competitively.
    
    
    • Demonstrates openness to changes affecting work unit and ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
