CAD Technician Utilities

The CAD Technician role will include creation and editing of drawings in compliance with WSP Middle East ME CAD Standards and detailing practices.



Responsibilities

bull Creation and editing of drawings amp sketches in compliance with WSP ME CAD Standards and detailing practices.

bull Produce accurate and timely CAD and BIM drawings and models to agreed deadlines

bull Completion of CAD tasks received from Engineers and Senior CAD Technicians

bull Generate sections schedules schematics from general arrangement drawings

bull Ensure drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner

bull Conversion of ACAD drawings to other formats such as DWF amp PDF

bull Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical field

bull Identify improvements where possible to enhance WSP ME service to clients

bull Use web based software to manage the uploading and downloading of document submittals drawings models etc.

bull Ensure that Health amp Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies

bull Provide regular work status updates including risks or concerns to line manager

bull Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required

bull Contribute to the delivery of the Business Unit BU strategy. Including supporting the companies approach to sustainability

bull Ensure QMS compliance

bull Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline

bull Feedback on all business development opportunities



Requirements

bull Minimum of a Diploma in a relevant discipline draughting service with ACAD

bull Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience using AutoCAD

bull Proven ability to work up drawings plans sections amp details from Engineers basic sketches.

bull Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD software version 2010 and above Including XRefs Lisp Blocks Layers Model Space amp Paper Space Viewports Pen Setting files and all AutoCAD utilities

bull Good working knowledge of the relevant discipline

bull Experienced user of Microsoft Office

bull Familiar with working in a LAN environment
