Key Responsiblities•Team Management Actively engage and motivate direct reports to maximize overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team assist in establishing a performance management culture through clear objective setting continuous constructive feedback and active development plan allocate workload and delegate responsibility based on expertise and resource availability within the team estimate future staffing requirements in coordination with Senior Management.•Business partnership Actively liaise with global and local stakeholders at the level of directors and above to engage and maintain partnership assist technical communities to refine their requirements manage the demand and align with business processes facilitate translation between engineering challenges and IT solutions to reach mutual understanding•Contracts Financial Management Liaise with vendors delivering products suitable to the Oil Gas Industry establish SLAs and ensure compliance through metrics control review and negotiate contracts and agreements deliver budgets forecast and RoFo to the IS management. •Projects and New capability deployment Support new deployments in MOQ actively drive innovation and new capabilities in the business steer the new capability development in partnership with global Tech IT in the specific areas of Technical computing HPC and other niche technology for the technical user community Provide advice and support to Senior Management on future project costs design concepts andor design changes closely liaise and support project managers supervise preparation of feasibility studies for new application and service requests evaluate alternate options allocate necessary resources for the development and integration of the system•Continual Service Improvement Ensure proactive support to avoid operational downtime arrange internal education of delivered solutions Monitor performance usage and capacity of solutions and workflows to promote and control amendments and enhancements prioritize critical requests in alignment with business requirements increase program operating efficiency by adapting to new requirements and technologies recommend changes in procedures or equipment as required•Portfolio management Drive overall portfolio strategy and align with global and local requirements manage all the local needs with the Corporate IS and ensure the right level of steer and governance is provided supervise changes to existing solutions and integration of new systems through roadmaps to ensure compliance to original specifications and internal standards monitor documentation and respect of processes and protocols establish internal SLAs with business functions and use them to monitor performance of the team emphasize system integrity and controls on data access expirations patches version management plan postimplementation reviews on a continual basis for all systems to ensure optimum service delivery prepare and review operational reports to determine system success and failures.•Global Production IT Portfolio Management Working collaboratively with senior business stakeholders and service areas within IS to develop end to end solutions which are required to achieve the objectives and performance targets of the business area supported Manage the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the technical applications portfolio. This includes planning upgrades evaluating and managing requests for new software monitoring cost and usage of software assessing the efficiency of the portfolio relative to business workflows keeping pace with industry and supplier trends and communicating these activities to all service areas within IS. Who we are looking forA Candidate with•Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in Petrolelum Engineering or related discipline•10 year’s industry working experience in areas of Technical IT and Petro technical organisation•Extensive knowledge and understanding of end to end Scientific and Technical IT for Upstream Oil Gas•Strong understanding of the requirements for ITIL processes and service management•Strong contracts vendor and financial management skills•Strong oral and written communication skills •Strong interpersonal skills comfortable interfacing with all levels of company employees as well as routine interactions with the user groupsLast application date 03 April 2014.maerskoil.comMaersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques.
