Job Description
My client is a small Mid cap operator who has experienced a huge amount of exploration success in the ldquoStansrdquo region of Central Asia over the last decade.
They are currently looking for an Operational PetroleumReservoir Engineer for their office in Dubai reporting directly to the COO and overseeing the operations in Central Asia.
This is a hands on operational Petroleum Engineer role. While a knowledge of simulation software is good someone who has spent most of their career only creating simulations would not be suitable. This role requires the incumbent to go out to the field build working relations oversee the operations and liaise with the well site teams.
Most of the work is on conventionals however there may be some unconventionals coming on line this year so experience of both would be good.
Strong Data interpretation skills strong well test design skills and experience managing operational data is important for this role.
Good communication skills are very important as from time to time you will be required to engage with shareholders to present on the performance and predicted flow rates of the reservoirs.
Experience working in the Former Soviet Union would be beneficial.
This role is a great opportunity to develop your career by giving you broad experience of both the technical and operational side of a business but also exposure to the commercial side. Often working for a smaller operator turns you in to a more rounded candidate due to the levels of commercial exposure which is invaluable for future mobility.
Required background skills and experience
Previous role as a Petroleum Engineer Reservoir Engineer or Operational Reservoir Engineer.
510 years experience
MSc or equivalent
Experience working at an operator
Hands on practical and operational experience
Strong Well Test design skills
Strong Data interpretation skills
