Job Description



Detailed Position Requirements



Working as Core DBA to Installing Patching and Upgrading Oracle10g Oracle9i database software on various operating systems as Hp Ux 11 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 45.

Deciding and implementing backups restore and recovery strategies recovery includes appropriate Flashback techniques.

Strengthening Business Continuity Capability by an internal disaster recovery test and periodically validating restore recovery DR procedures.

Monitoring databases instances listeners application servers Oracle10 AS and making sure that all is up running properly reviewing alert log trace files for smooth functioning of databases. Performing proactive maintenance for database storage and tablespaces etc.

Capacity Planning for Oracle using analytical and simulation modeling algorithms deciding and validating usage Files System ASM Disk Group Paging utilization CPU Memory Network bandwidth IO Throughput.

Oracle ebusiness suite R12 installations administration cloning patching managing DR integrating Discoverer 10g Plus with Apps R12 Oracle Application Server 10g.

Administering and supporting MS SQL Server 2005 databases.

Installing and managing SunGard RIMS applications using Oracle10g databases and Oracle Application Servers 10g.



Person Specification



Experience and Skills



Oracle DBA with excellent technical expertise in managing large volume databases on various operating systems and storage systems 6 years.

Oracle Apps DBA with technical expertise in Oracle ebusiness suite R12 installations administration cloning patching managing DR integrating Discoverer 10g Plus with Apps R12 Oracle Application Server 10g 3.5 years.

Installing and managing SunGard RIMS applications using Oracle10g databases and Oracle Application Servers 10g 1.5 years

Educational Background

B.E. Computer Engineering



Language Requirements

Knowledge of Unix Shell scripts and storage systems.



Staff Reports

It is an individual contributor role and should be working as part of NCBC DBA Team.

Communications Interfaces with Other Divisions amp 3rd Parties

It requires communication within NCBC IT NCB IT Business users vendors such as SunGard NourNet DBAs.
