a. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

i. Developing and supervising development for GIS software applications for Desktop server and Mobile platforms. This includes implementation plan scheduling and monitoring and control of contractorside GIS programmers.This position is also responsible for managing software source code maintenance and version control.

ii. Participating in user requirements analysis for organizational level of GIS system Implementation. This position should liaison issues and technology related concerns to stakeholders and provide recommendations.

iii. Providing GIS System Architectural Design. This position should be working on

specialized GISvendor tools ‘CPT’ to create and design and deployment strategy for all the developed and procured GIS software in KOC.

iv Capacity Planning for GIS Hardware Software and licensing. This position should participate in the resources planning monitoring and reporting. It should alsowork to analyze and anticipate projected future system infrastructure and report it regularly.

v Participating in project planning and providing GIS Application development guidance based on knowledge of international standards and best practices. This position should participate in generating software implementation and deployment policies and procedures in line with KOC regulations and policies.

vi Participating technology selection and evaluation. This position should be responsible for researching and conducting comparative analysis on new GIS and GISrelated technologies and to provide corresponding reports and recommendations accordingly.

vii Acting as liaison between GIS specialists and the management.
