Finance Officer

Job Purpose

The Sr. Finance Officer is a critical integral part of the QGBC Operations and Development management as reporting would lie both within Qatar Foundation Finance Directorate and QGBC.

Reporting primarily to the Operations Development Director the incumbent will be in charge of financial processes and internal controls of QGBC operations and ensuring financial statements are prepared and reported in accordance with QF finance. The role requires handling membership invoices receipt and events’ financial aspects keeping records of QGBC’s expenses and revenue tracking invoices and payments of workshops and training sessions.



KEY RESULT AREAS

Following are the key responsibilities which will evolve over time as QGBC programs develops

Financial Responsibilities

Performs accounting financial functions reporting process and monitor QGBC’s payments and expenses

Liaise with QF financial department in tracking membership payments issuance of invoices receipts and issue weekly report

Keeping track of deposits and revenue pertaining to training workshops sponsorship funds annual conferences etc conducted by QGBC

Handling payment of training providers and vendors for promotional materials and other services Coordinate with QF finance department and as per the agreements signed with QGBC

Liaise with Communication team on the budget aspect of the event and marketing strategies.

Assist in the budget preparation and maintains the relationship with the auditors

Liaise with Membership Coordinator and Sponsorship Contract Specialist with regards to members payment and invoices and sponsors deposits

Follow up and update the Operations Development Director on outstanding payment of members and workshops.

Enter data for accounts payable accounts receivable and maintain general ledgers and monthly financial reports

Process backup reports after data entry

Transform figures to charts in order to provide monthly report to the Operations Development Director with regards to financial health of QGBC.

Maintain accounts payments of membership program founding membership and standard membership fee.

Liaise with Membership Coordinator in updating of members’ due payments.

Provide input for improving financial performance and system as applicable by monitoring marketing expenses and other QGBC general expenses and deposits

Administration

Maintain inventory files.

Prepare travel and accommodation warrants for guests sponsored by QGBC.

Ensure confidentiality and security for all financial files

Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.

To undertake other duties as requested by the Operations Development Director


Skills


Knowledge Skills Experience

Proficient experience of bookkeeping and administration procedures.

Proficient knowledge of accounts payable accounts receivable and maintain general ledgers.

Excellent knowledge of computerized accounting spreadsheets wordprocessing programs.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

High level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data.

Willing to work long hours and on preagreed tight deadlines.

Strong time management skills

Excellent interpersonal and team building skills

Analytical problem solving and decision making skills.

Highly effective organization skills with regards to finance.

At least 3 years of working experience in the area of finance and administration.
