A fully funded postdoc position is available at the Dept. of Cell and Molecular Biology at Karolinska Institutet. The main interest of the research group is to explore mechanisms governing the acquisition and subsequent maintenance of neuronal identity. In addition to exploring the fundamental mechanisms of neuronal differentiation our research aims to understand how the loss or gain of key regulators can influence tumor formation in the nervous system.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in molecular stem cell or developmental biology. The position requires a person with great energy and the ability to work independently but at the same time able to collaborate with others. The project includes both in vivo and in vitro techniques. Experience with transgenic mice xenograft transplantation andor bioinformatics is an advantage. Excellent skills in written and spoken English are essential as is an ability to interact with other researchers students and collaborators.
Beside cellular in vitro assays the project epasses in vivo experiments both in wild type and transgenic mouse. The methods include but are not limited to in utero electroporation lentivirus generation xenografts intracranial viral injections immunofluorescent detection and processing for confocal analysis RNAsequencing ChIPseq western blotting PCR FACSsorting and bioinformatic analysis. In addition to a high level of technical prowess the candidate is expected to be able to analyze and present data both in text and orally.
