WRS are looking for a well experienced Geologist with strong technical skills in mapping correlations modelling and onshore development to work in this GGP Technical Lead role based in Houston.

The Client

The company is an international energy company with operations in many countries. Building on over 30 years of experience from oil and gas production the company is looking at bringing in someone to work as a GGP Technical lead based in the Houston office.

Suitable Applicants

Experience of leading small teams of Geoscientists minimum of 3

12 years of relevant industry experience

MSc degree in a geological subject is the minimum qualification required

Onshore US shale development experience is essential preferably in the Eagle Ford

Experience with field development planning would be advantageous

Experience of business processes from a sizeable oil and gas company

Good overview of relevant IT tools

Highly skilled in Personnel development

Your Key Duties will include

Leading a team of Geologists Geophysicists and Petrophysics towards achieving goals and targets as set by management.

Supervising coaching and mentoring the team as required to attain results

Recommending data gathering requirements that will enable the asset to meet strategic objectives

Providing expertise in well log analysis and log correlation core descriptions and incorporation of core data into analysis work closely with Petrophysicist on shale models

Planning well paths creating geoprognosis assist with staking requests and plats Application to Drill Permits etc

Liaise with and communicate regularly with critical functions such as drilling land facilities etc to ensure well plans are delivered in a timely manner

Ensure the GGP team is focused on delivering results on schedule. Work with the subsurface leader to develop KPI39s and targets to measure success

Assist Business Development to identify potential acquisition candidates assign personnel to perform such tasks as required

Next Stage
