Special System Engineer

We are looking for Special System Engineer to work for Group of Engineering Companies with Know-How and Technical Expertise in Consulting, Designing, Delivering and Managing Critical Infrastructure Projects in Qatar. Overall purpose of the job: To work with the Hamad Port Master System Integration Consultant (MSIC) team in order to monitor the contract’s progress, review design & implementation deliverables and ensure that the MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) systems are delivered according to contract requirements and technical specifications. The MEP Engineer shall further provide coordination, standards and code input, construction technical support and construction quality control for all MEP system provided by the Hamad Port Master System Integration Contractor, in accordance with the project specifications. Special requirements: Travelling as required for the projects undertaken Responsibilities – Authorities: His / her responsibilities include: • Ensure that the Contractor’s adhere to the Project safety regulations. • Review and comment on all MEP engineering related submitted documentation such as basis of design documents, calculation studies, drawings, material submittals, method Statements, risk assessments, ITPs etc. for adherence to project specifications and applicable standards. • Provide technical guidance to the project management personnel. • Participate in all coordination meetings with the Contractor, client and governmental agencies. • Evaluate MEP systems, processes and facilities to support the projects objectives • Conduct site inspections of the site installations to ensure the adherence to project contract specifications, design drawings and documents as well as to engineering standards. • Support the Contractor and provide MEP engineering related support, review and coordination to ensure that the quality expectation is properly met during construction • Review and inspect the testing and commissioning of the MEP systems • Prepare and submit for review all project MEP field reports • Compile reports and records about the MEP systems on a regular basis • Coordinate with office staff, consultants, contractors and other personnel and perform any additional task identified by the Project Manager that is related to MEP systems. Required qualifications: • BS degree in Electrical Engineering • Proven working experience in MEP systems (power distribution MV and LV, Electrical Substations, Transformers, Lightning protection, Earthing & Bonding, underground cable installations, etc.) of eight year’s minimum in large infrastructure projects • Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Able to communicate ideas and results clearly, concisely and effectively both orally, by giving presentations and writing • Proven experience in the design of infrastructure and Building Electrical systems • Experienced in the construction of Building and infrastructure MEP projects • Proficient with use of personal computers Microsoft Office including Word and Excel • Knowledge of all relevant international and Qatar national codes • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively within the project team, understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendation • Able to perform effectively in a high pressure situations while maintaining focus and composure Additional Qualifications: • Master’s in the relevant field • Experienced in the design and installation of HVAC system • Experienced in the design and installation of BMS, Lighting Control and Fire Alarm system • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Reports to: Technical Director If you’re interested kindly send your updated cv application to jen@quinnmcgrath.com Please let me know the following: Current salary: Expected salary: Notice period: Look forward to hear from you.
