Pharmacy Technician

Note: Global Medical Recruiting will not charge you, the applicant any placement fees JOB SPECIFICATION POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in their role as a medicines manager through performing a wide range of medicine distribution supply roles including the secure storage, assembly, repackaging and preparing of medicines for dispensing to patients, their carers and other healthcare professionals. Pharmacy Technicians perform tasks that do not require a Pharmacists skills or privileges. Pharmacy Technicians always work under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES: Medicine Distribution. Patient care. Medicines Information. Continuing Personal Development. Teamwork and Professional Collaboration. Management and leadership. Medicine Distribution: Understand and adhere to Qatar Medicine laws and regulations. Works according to hospital policies and standard operating procedures and consults with a pharmacist if that is not possible due to unusual circumstances. Prepares and arranges the medication on prescription. Works with new technologies to automate and improve the safety of medicines distribution. Take responsibility for the standard of their own work ensuring that medicines are dispensed to in-patients and out-patients in a safe and efficient manner. Always demonstrates personal accuracy when dispensing and when checking the work of others in a wide range of settings (inpatients, outpatient, controlled drugs, extemporaneous preparation and IV preparation). Assembles medications for inpatient and out-patient orders including fills(patient carts) and the replenishment of floor stocks and refilling of automated drug cabinets. Aseptic assembly of medications for parenteral administration. Compounding of sterile & non-sterile formulations. Repack all tablets and capsules from bulk stock and label it in a properly manner. Patient care: Ensure that physician orders have been verified by a pharmacist before dispensing and assembly. Identify and resolve common problems with medication orders (incomplete order, expired order). Medicines information: Effective use of readily available reference sources (paper and electronic) if they have any doubts or concerns regarding medication orders. Support pharmacists by undertaking basic product research. Continuing professional development: The continuing education requirements for pharmacy technicians have not been stated by the Qatar authorities; however, technicians are expected to keep up to date by participating in continuing education opportunities. Teamwork and Professional Collaboration: Participate in the pharmacy shift system for their facility (i.e. covering 24 hours duties). Demonstrate strong teamwork and an ability to work effectively with people of different professions and at different levels. Liaise with the employer regarding issuing of your entry visa into the country. 7. Booking of your flight and meet & greet at the airport.
