Finance Manager Energy Trading

The Gulf Recruitment Group are currently recruiting exclusively for a large privately owned multinational Oil and Gas firm based in Dubai. The company has been operating within the Oil amp Gas and Refinery space for over 30 years and are one of the leading firms in their field. Their corporate Head Office operates out of Dubai and there is current need to strengthen their corporate financial reporting.

Skills

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for supporting the financial management of the UAE entities with particular focus on the energy trading business.



The core of the role will be managing the financial and management reporting for the commodity trading team experience in areas such as spot trading commodities transfer pricing trade finance leveraging commodities on the balance sheet are an advantage.



There will be high interaction with the CEO MD CFO and you must be comfortable challenging the status quo especially in board meetings where input at all levels is required. Typical work will include developing business models financial planning due diligence audit issue resolution working with the banks analysis and staff management.



We are looking to identify a high potential individual with the ability to operate think and rationalize at a higher level of business awareness than their current peer group.



You will have a strong knowledge of technical finance the ability to deliver yr end stat accounts with supporting notes as well as a solid understanding of commodity trading from an accounting and control perspective.



You will be a Qualified Accountant with circa 5 years post qualified experience. You can either be within the Big4 Accounting firms within the Energy Trading Teams or within industry working for an energy trading firm. Experience of mining oil gas commodity trading agriculture or banking within the trade finance or commodity trading desk is preferred. Technical IFRS knowledge is essential.



The firm has a track record of rewarding strong performers and so we are strictly seeking individuals with the exact requirements from one of the following backgrounds



1. Oil trading

Will be a qualified accountant within an oil trading business that trades both spot and futuresoptions contracts. Must have strong technical knowledge of accounting for embedded derivatives under IFRS.



2. Practice

Must be operating at audit manager level or above and will have significant recent and direct experience of auditing the financials and control environment for a trading floor within an investment banking or oil trading business preferably trading commodities.



3. Product Control

You will have significant recent experience of working within the product control team of an investment bank or trading business and will be looking for a broader more strategic role. You will be a qualified accountant and have experience of hedgederivative accounting.



Essential Requirements in order to reach the shortlist must include



• 5 years’ experience as a Qualified Accountant ACA CA ACCA CMA CIMA MBA

• Experience in preparation of management and statutory accounts

• Strong understanding of IFRS

• Knowledge of Oil Gas sector shipping and commodities

• Experience of Structured Asset Finance

• Project Finance



The budget for the role is circa 35000 – 400000AED per month with additional benefits.
