Manager of Systems and Applications Section UAE National

1 Provides direction supervision and training to employees under their supervision in performing their tasks and in solving problems they encounter while performing their jobs.

2 Ensures that all functions to be undertaken by their section have been allocated to responsible people and are correctly completed with no functions left undone or unaccounted for.

3 Develops maintains and ensures compliance with policies and procedures set for the Systems and Applications section.

4 Assists in setting quality control procedures that will enhance the services provided.

5 Provides Head of department with regular reports and management information relating to the business of their section in an accurate and timely manner.

6 Ensures the provision and distribution of all necessary information to other departments in an accurate and timely manner.

7 Keeps abreast of new developments methods and techniques in securities markets and the operation of their information technology systems and applications.

8 Prepares and conducts performance evaluations of staff under their supervision.

9 Ensures that a high level of coordination and communication is maintained through directing their staff and enhancing working relationships with other sections.

10 Assists in the preparation of budget based on the requirement of section under their supervision including staff materials and equipment.

11 Approves expenses and overtime for employees working under their supervision.

12 Supervises and monitors the instalation of new applications and system software versions including software upgrades.

13 Supervises and monitors system testing and user feedback.

14 Reviews and monitors systems logs.

15 Develops and maintains complete back up arrangements for market and internal systems. Tests information technology backups and contingency arrangements on a periodic basis.

16 Assists in the development of disaster recovery procedures for systems and applications.

17 Specifies requirements in conjunction with the end user for internal systems and information technology related enhancements required.

18 Identifies methodologies for standards of deliverables for information technology projects.

19 Manages all information technology development projects.

20 Liaises with third party suppliers who develop or maintain software.

21 Oversees internal training for all staff on systems software and applications.

22 Proposes improvements to existing information technology related systems and software.

23 Manages the implementation of related hardware upgrades.

24 Performs any other task of duties as may be required by senior management.

Skills

Education Designations

Bachelor degree in computer sciences or information technology or business administration or equivalent.



Experience

Ten years experience in a similar position.

Three years supervisory experience.
