Senior Project Manager
.
We currently seek a professional to take on a leadership position as the Senior Project Manager in Qatar.
The Senior Project Manager role is accountable for the operational performance technical and people leadership of their team and discipline projects across WSP in the Middle East ME. The role holder will also be responsible for the Project Manager PM role for selected multi or single disciplinary projects. The role holder must take a 'hands on' approach to all aspects of the role.
Responsibilities
Your focus in this position is split between but not limited to four key areas
Business Leadership
bull Responsible for the leadership and support of their team
bull Ensure that Health amp Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
bull Ensure the right resources are utilised effectively at the right time across their team and projects. Including engaging with the Complimentary Resource Centres CRCs to ensure that communication and design processes are continually improved
bull Input into the recruitment and selection process
bull Conduct meaningful inductions performance management reviews and personal development plans that support the development of individuals and the business
bull Contribute to succession planning and career development across their team
bull Support the development and delivery of training and awareness sessions as required
bull Contribute to the development and implementation of the Business Unit BU strategy
bull Provide project and team updates for the development of the Discipline Leadership Team DLT and Project Leadership Team PLT monthly reports
bull Attend and lead team and project meetings cascade relevant information and encourage feedback from team
bull Input into setting and delivering PampL BU budget and forecasts
bull Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project Lifecycle compliance across their team and projects.
bull Provide guidance and support the companies approach to Sustainability and ensure that the Sustainability strategy is implemented across the team
Business Development
bull Contribute to business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions
bull Actively develop external and internal client relationships
bull Proactively co sell other WSP ME services and where applicable the wider business
bull Contribute to the Key Account Management KAM programmes with the aim of increasing client intelligence to develop win solutions and support unique selling points for prospects.
bull Support the 'Prospect to Project Process' for lead projects and overseeing the process for direct reports
bull Act as Prospect Manager on selected projects
bull Provide technical leadership to respond to prequalification documents Request for Price RFPs and other client inquiries
bull Contribute to the financial buildup of resources and lump sum pricing items for prospects where required
Project Leadership
bull To act as PM on selected projects by managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects
bull Ensure that own projects adhere to Project Lifecycle and that projects led by direct reports adhere to Project Lifecycle
bull Support the formation of the contractual relationship between the business and the client taking the process from proposal to contract utilising the advice of the support functions
bull Engage with the CRCs at the Prospect stage through to completion to ensure the most cost efficient delivery of their projects.
bull Ensure proactive project planning stakeholder and risk management takes place across projects
bull Supervise the team to identify assess and manage major project risk and secure the best commercial return from the projects in their portfolio
bull To ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met
bull Support the delivery of project PampL budgets forecasts and working capital targets for own projects and projects led by direct reports
bull Support the accurate and timely recognition of revenue for own projects and projects led by direct reports
bull Support the overseeing and delivery of the process of working capital management from inception to completion within set deadlines This includes the timing of invoicing the review of Work in Progress WIP and the collection of outstanding invoices from clients whilst utilising the advice of the support functions as necessary
bull Contribute to the completion of monthly management project reports to be issued by set deadline
bull Attend and contribute in PLT meetings as required
Technical
bull Provide support and guidance to Technical Working Group TWG
bull Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline and understand and appreciate the basic technical principles and drivers of other disciplines
bull Develop the technical capabilities of direct reports
bull Lead technical solutions on projects
bull Contribute to and lead design peer reviews in alignment with the QMS system
Requirements
bull BEng BSc Hon degree or equivalent discipline with minimum 10 years post graduate experience
bull Experience in Civil Infrastructure
bull Member of associated Professional body
bull NA preferred although not essential
bull Experience and proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team and multidisciplinary projects
bull Experienced user of Microsoft Office
