Senior Interior Designer

To provide a design service to ASTAD in compliance with various design briefs and applicable codes and standards to support the Head Designer and Lead senior project engineers.

To review consultants and contractors submittals when required by the Head Designer and or senior project engineers.

To coordinate tendering process for performancebased FFE and signage packages with Materials Department when required by Head Designer andor Senior Project Engineers.

Generally works on more than one project at a time.

Skills

Qualifications and Knowledge

Bachelor Degree in Interior Design Architectural Engineering or equivalent.

Membership and or registration with an internationally recognized architectural body.



Experience

Minimum 8 years of broad based experience in building projects and ability to identify and formulate practical solutions to the spectrum of architectural and interior design issues.

Experience in design management and construction work. Preparation of scope of works contracts and specification writing with knowledge in reviewing and recommending a large range of building materials and FFE is essential.

Must have experience with FFE and specifications for Interior furniture and knowledge of major commercial FFE manufacturers quality standards and appropriate finishes.



Job Specific Skills

Proficiency level in the use of the English language which must approach native speaker standard.

Knowledge of contract law and experience of managing contractual disputes and arbitration issues.

Ability to use typical industry computer software such as AutoCAD Photoshop Excel Work Power Point Outlook Adobe Acrobat Professional Internet Explorer etc.

Ability to spend about 20 of working hours on site visits resulting in exposure to local ambient conditions to projects located throughout Qatar.

Ability to make site visits vendor workshops and field often extending over several days and travel abroad as and when required in connection with the position.

Extensive experience in Design Management.
