For more information visit the company's website at www.ge.com Relocation Expenses No Role SummaryPurpose The Chief Compliance Officer GGO Middle East North Africa and Turkey MENAT will be responsible for designing implementing monitoring and enforcing the Company's compliance and ethics strategy in the MENAT region and leading a team of compliance professionals located in the businesses in the region. Essential Responsibilities •Provides strategic direction for the MENATwide compliance program•Supervises the regionwide deployment and operation of GE's compliance program throughout MENAT and takes responsibility to ensure that each business unit and Corporate entities located in the region implements the elements of the GErequired program•Leads the MENAT Compliance organization providing direction and leadership to the team of compliance professionals.•Interacts with senior executives on sensitive compliance issues and related matters and takes a leadership role in providing systemati corrective process improvements•Coordinates effectively with the senior functional leaders across MENAT including Finance Audit Legal Government Affairs Business Development Human Resources and others as an effective member of GE's senior leadership team in the region•Takes responsibility for a communication and training strategy that ensures GE employees in MENAT are knowledgeable about legal regulatory and policy requirements aware of new risks and committed to GE's culture of compliance•Implements key operating mechanisms to ensure coordination with the various Business Compliance Leaders in the region sharing of best practices and implementation of the GEwide policies and processes •Leads the compliance function efforts on simplification within MENAT and acts as a change agent for developing lean processes streamlined training communications and related priorities•Reports on compliance program health to GE's Chief Compliance Director and GE's General Counsel•Develops and implements a strategy for compliance for GE's new shared services center in the region•Assumes a key role as part of a team of senior global compliance officers covering GE's global operations to develop GE's annual global compliance priorities functional strategy projects and initiatives to strengthen compliance processes across the Company •Collaborates with Corporate Audit's Executive Audit Manager and with CAS resources in MENAT on key compliance initiatives as well as to help structure audits e.g. antitrust privacy process breakdowns coming out of specific investigations•Responds promptly and systematically to issues including through investigations in the region and when necessary interacts with regulators and enforcement officials to represent GE•Strengthens GE's ethics program in the region with a focus on working with GE's Ombuds network within MENAT and enhances GE's noretaliation reporting environment•Provides training and rolls out tools best practices and metrics to assist the businesses in MENAT with respect to their acquisitions dispositions joint ventures alliances and other arrangements and customizing guidelines to address compliance risks in GE transactions including joint ventures. QualificationsRequirements •Experienced legal andor compliance executive with 10 years of experience in related area e.g. compliance legal audit with strong and proven performance record•Applicable law degree and admission to the bar is preferable•Ability willingness to travel•Fluent in English ability to speak Arabic preferably•Overseas experience and knowledge of other cultures and languages a strong plus•Strong critical thinking and analytical skills ability to assess various complex issues and come to quick conclusions•Knowledge of process and program design and implementation – strong project management skills and execution focus•Experience with investigations and regulatory issues•Experience with designing initiatives that reflect business goals and meet budget targets•Strong communicator concise clear communication in individual and group settings•Excellent interpersonal and more...
