Business Intelligence Solution Architect

A new Business Intelligence Solution Architect for iVEDiX will join an impressive team of other Solution Architects and will be supported by talented data gurus and project managers. The teams within iVEDiX are crossfunctional and they work together to design and build endtoend business intelligence and data warehouse solutions. iVEDiX has worked with some of the largest and most innovative companies across the globe in industries from telecom to retail. Every project is unique and a new Solution Architect at iVEDiX will gain diverse experience in many fields. At iVEDiX Solution Architects work closely with internal project managers modelers and data architects as well as with external clients and partners.



Details of the Job



The iVEDiX Business Intelligence Solution Architect will design and build reporting and analytical applications. They will be responsible for working closely with an iVEDiX Account Manager or Project Manager to develop a suitable project plan that meets the client’s needs. The Solution Architect will intimately understand a client’s business requirements and will become a Subject Matter Expert SME of that particular area or industry. The Solution Architect will work with the Data Architect to produce a dimensional semanticpresentation layer to ensure optimal reporting requirements are being met.

Specific Skills



The ideal candidate understands Relational DBMS OLAP engines cubes SQL and MDX Languages and will have experience using these tools to develop strategies for business

intelligence solutions. The candidate should be familiar with at least one of the commonlyused ETL tools SSIS Informatica Data Stage or others. The candidate should also be familiar with data warehouse concepts and principles. They must understand how business intelligence reporting solutions fit within an enterprise data model and within data architecture.



The Solution Architect should have experience with the performance optimization of such solutions. In addition to the above the candidate for the Solution Architect position will



 Be able to conduct assessments of clients’ requirements technical and business and document those requirements in the form of proposal and solution roadmaps. A big part of this business is learning on your feet.



 Possess the ability to lead interviews of both technical and business personnel to capture requirements and translate them into technical development specifications i.e. data mapping documentation. Being a skilled communicator comes in handy here!



 Be able to define the BI solution architecture vision and ensure alignment with the business’ goals while ensuring that any technical risks are clearly defined and understood by iVEDiX teams and clients.



 Have experience presenting technical concepts to executivelevel business persons. This includes documenting communicating and showcasing the architecture and supporting recommendations of the solution.



 Know how to apply applications and analytical reporting aligned tools and techniques and a serviceoriented data delivery attitude for near realtime reporting.



 Have experience developing the BI roadmap architecture deliverable to include components such as current states pros and cons and recommendation reports.



 Have experience providing advice and guidance on data approaches and solutions



Additional Qualifications



 The candidate will have at least a Bachelor's Degree but a Master's is preferred.



 Field of study Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering or other related areas.



 At least 5 years with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions.



 3 years of experience using data structures such as highly normalized data models and StarSnowflake Schemas.



 Excellent SQL programming and relational databases skills.
