Senior Offshore Field Geophysicist

Job Description

Our Client is a global geoscience consultancy and a leading provider of advanced integrated geophysical solutions to the oil amp gas companies. With a global Headquarters in Houston and a network of over 40 offices worldwide the organisation continues to expand and we are now looking to recruit a Senior Offshore Geophysicist for a role based out of Dubai UAE

Role

The successful candidate will be tasked with the following activity and responsibilities

bull Responsible for the integrity of 2D and 3D data acquired on board seismic vessels

bull Perform 2D3D data processing in removing noise multiples picking velocities stacking filtering and migrating data.

bull Coordinate with observers and navigators.

bull Ensure the integrity of processing flows and executing testing and production.

bull Communication with onshore processing team to provide status identify problems and recommend solutions.

bull Write reports and provide notes at crew change including final reports for projects based on contract requirements.

bull Ability to train and mentor lesser experienced staff and new field geophysicists

bull Supporting offshore data processing and project related needs.

bull Assisting seismic processing group activity



Person

We are therefore keen to speak with and receive CVrsquos from candidates with the following skills and experience

bull Degree educated in a geoscience or similar discipline

bull A minimum of 5 years experience in seismic processing with at least 18 months experience working offshore on seismic vessels.

bull Willing to work offshore aboard seismic vessels on 5 week rotations anywhere in the world.

bull Knowledge of how to generate RMS maps stacks QC of near trace cube noise attenuation algorithms 2D3D stacks 2D3D migration demultiple and velocity analysis are a must.

bull Decision making and problem identification combined with the ability to formulate solutions.

bull Ability to function as a team member in offshore vessel environment.

bull Promax experience is an advantage
