Job descriptionPosition Title Senior Architect Hill International Middle East is a US based Project Management and Claims Consultancy firm with offices throughout the World. With over 4000 employees in 100 offices worldwide Hill provides program management project management construction management and construction claims and consulting services. Engineering NewsRecord magazine recently ranked Hill as the 8th largest construction management firm in the World. Hill International is seeking to employ Senior Architect with heavy construction experience for one of its ongoing projects in Qatar. Project Location Qatar Reports To Design Manager Qualifications University Degree in Architecture Excellent command of the English Language 15 years of relevant professional experience Excellent communication and computer skills Experience in Civil Projects i.e. Residential Mixed Use Hotels Shopping Malls General Description of Role Responsibilities Review the Architectural drawings reports and specification submitted by the Design Consultants at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness correctness and compliance with the scope of work and agreement requirements. Carry out constructability review during the Design and Modification stages. Review in a timely manner the Design Consultants’ submittals and forward comments to the Design Manager. Ensure the Design Consultants incorporates the comments raised from previous stages. Attend Technical meetings with the Design Consultants and other Sub Consultants Contractor’s and Client’s Team. Review ContractorConsultant’s proposed design organizations and related CVs and report to Design Manager on his findings. Coordinate with PM’s Document Controller and PM QAQC Manager to ensure that all Documents related to his discipline are properly controlled. Review any alternative to the Design concept submitted by the Design Consultants prepare and submit a report including a recommendation to the Engineering Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative. Review the materials proposed by the Design Consultants and propose alternatives to improve the quality future maintenance safety and cost effectiveness. Review the change requests variations submitted by the Design Consultants. Review Tender Documents to ensure completeness prior to issuing to Bidders. Participate in the prequalification of the construction contractors’ list. Review and reply to bidders clarifications and participate in issuing bulletins and attending Technical Meetings with bidders during Tender stage.
