Professor responsibilities are typically divided between teaching research and service.

The teaching responsibilities are the most visible learning the material this can take years especially for some upper level courses keeping up to date with current advances in both research and pedagogy preparing lectures supervising teaching assistants grading etc.

Professors must conduct original research in their respective fields publish the results in scholarly journals and present it at peer conferences.

Service activities involve serving on various committees and also perform service activities to the quotacademic community quot such as organizing conferences editing and refereeing for journals

Teaching and learning

• To oversee the design and development of the overall curricula and develop and deliver a range of programmes of study sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.

• To develop the quality assurance framework within our clients overall framework including the validation and revalidation of courses and student admission and assessment.

• To transfer knowledge including practical skills methods and techniques.

• To encourage the development of innovative approaches to course design and delivery and ensure that teaching design and delivery comply with the quality and educational standards and regulations of the department. To challenge thinking foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.

• To maintain overall teaching ratings at or above 4 out of 5 as per our clients standards of teaching excellence.

• To set mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to participants.

• To ensure that the teaching content and methods of delivery are in accordance with equal opportunities and respond to issues relating to staff and student needs.



Research

• To lead the development and implementation of research strategy.

• To lead and coordinate research activity in the subject including determining relevant research objectives and preparing research proposals

• To lead research and collaborative partnerships with other educational institutions or other bodies.

• To publish at least one article each year in top tier international academic journals in particular A and B journal as defined in the our clients list of target publications.

• To write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using other appropriate media.

• To seek practical application of research findings.

• To make presentations at national and international conferences and similar events.

• To carry out independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.

• To act as a referee and contribute to peer assessment.

• To update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism.



Communication

• To disseminate conceptual and complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences using appropriate media and methods to promote understanding.

• To prepare and submit proposals and applications to external bodies . for funding and accreditation purposes.
