Vice President of Engineering
Job Description The primary mandate of this position is to manage the business unitrsquos overall engineering activities and lead the development of professional services. The role will initially be focused in one region but will require a global reach to Chemical operations worldwide.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team the Vice President of Engineering will participate in setting the companyrsquos priorities and objectives in support of the vision.
Responsibilities
bullDevelop and implement a strategy to grow and enhance the companyrsquos engineering capabilities in support of operational excellence and competitiveness
bullManage daytoday operations of all engineering disciplines
bullEnsure all projects are adequately staffed with appropriate technical resources
bullDevelop and execute annual business plan
bullRegularly report the engineering status of the office and the ability to meet its strategic and operational objectives
bullImplement corporate policies procedures and organizational structure building awareness and support from affected constituencies
bullAssist in the establishment and ensure compliance of operational shortterm and longterm goals within overall corporate objectives
bullCoordinate and collaborate with other offices and divisions of the corporation in establishing and carrying out responsibilities
bullLead coach develop and appraise the performance of engineering personnel and provide the necessary coordination between activities
bullInfluence motivate and inform departmental managers about the companybusiness unit plans and progress
bullParticipate in the development of longterm plans for the business unit and establish service objectives and priorities to coordinate teams
bullMaintain strong knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirementsbest practices
bullProvide technical support to the Business Development team
Qualifications amp Experience
bullBSc. in Engineering
bullMinimum 20 25 years overall experience
bullAt least 10 years experience in an engineering leadership management position within a consulting company which has a minimum annual revenue of 25 million and a minimum of 250 employees.
bullMust have held senior Engineering roles in EPC projects in excess of one billion US
bullSolid understanding of the drivers in the oil and gas industry i.e. business trends regulatory economic and political
bullDemonstrated ability to design and implement significant organizational optimization
bullProven ability to recruit train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth

bullSolid leadership skills i.e. planning leading and execution
bullStrong professional presence in the industry with clients and regulators
bullAbility to establish credibility and be decisive ndash but able to recognize and support the organisationrsquos preferences and priorities
bullResults oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
bullParticipative management type ndash advocates team concept
bullStrong communication skills written and verbal with a demonstrated understanding of principles of employee engagement
bullStrong numerical ability and analytical reasoning skills
bullGood understanding of accounting principles
bullKnowledge of the Companyrsquos established guidelines procedures and practices would be an asset
