Senior Development Geologist

Job Description An independent oil and gas operator is actively searching for a Senior Geologist to join their team in the United Arab Emirates. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a highly successful company who are committed to performance and delivery.

Reporting to the Reservoir Development Manager and working in conjunction with the subsurface and drilling teams you will be primarily responsible for delivering locations of exploration and appraisal drilling prospects to ensure cost and potential production targets can be met. The selected candidate will be required to apply expertise with regionallocal geology to recommend prospects that enhance production and reserves.





Essential Job Experience

bullBachelor degree in Geology or related subject

bullMinimum 15 years working as a Geologist

bullProven exploration and regional geologic expertise

bullProven wellsite geology expertise

bullClear understanding of seismic palaeontology structural stratigraphy sedimentology log analysis

bullReservoir simulation modelling

bullExpertise with advanced ldquoMS Officerdquo tools



Responsibilities

bullIdentifies and evaluates leads and prospect targets

bullPrepares well correlation and volumetric calculations for prospect evaluation

bullEvaluates core and log data to support reservoir geological studies

bullCoordinates well plan logging sequence and contributions to operations decisions

bullPrepare and present drilling prospects to management

bullData analysis operational support and daily geological reports

bullUndertakes geological studies combining petrophysical data facies maps borehole image logs and pressure data leading to construction of 3 D static geological models

bullUse these models in the construction of integrated geocellular models for reservoir simulation modeling and resource estimation

bullRecognises the inherent uncertainty and risk in the appraisal and development operations assist in the development of risk appraisal strategies
