Cardiovascular Technologist Senior – Echocardiography-TAWAM Global Medical Recruiting seeking international Medical Staff on behalf of Tawam Hospital a premier 461-bed tertiary care facility located in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi.The hospital is part of the SEHA Health System, it is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Candidates with qualifications obtained in WESTERN countries (such as UK, Australia, NZ, South Africa, Canada and USA), ARAB countries and EUROPEAN countries are invited to apply. Package offered according to experience Minimum requirements: EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Cardio Vascular program or allied health specialized program in Cardio Vascular Technology of a minimum of 2 years syllabus AND Registration with cardiovascular credentialing international , the American registry of diagnostic medical sonographers, UK registration council for clinical physiologists, the Canadian association of cardiopulmonary technologists or The Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology New Zealand or equivalent AND Current National License AND BLS. Preferred: Graduate of an approved cardiovascular technology or clinical physiology (cardiology) program leading to a degree of a minimum of 3 years diploma or a degree or 3 year diploma in Radiography. ACLS recommended EXPERIENCE: Postgraduate clinical experience of a minimum of 4 years relevant experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: English Essential and Arabic preferred. LICENSURE: Registration with cardiovascular credentialing international, American registry of diagnostic medical sonographers, UK registration council for clinical physiologists, The Canadian association of cardiopulmonary technologists or equivalent. Current National License. Current and valid license in country of origin, preferably with HAAD or DHA licence. (On acceptance of offer you will be required to obtain a HAAD licence. Job Specifications: Basic Purpose of the Role: Performs advanced cardiac diagnostic and interventional (if applicable) techniques including Cardiac Echocardiography, Cardiac Stress testing, cardiac catheterizations and interventions, and ambulatory cardiac procedures. Interprets and reports on various cardiac procedures. Key Responsibilities: Technical: Monitoring patients' blood pressure and heart rate using electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Monitoring patients' comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses. Explaining testing procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Preparing reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician. Observing gauges, recorder, and video screens of data analysis system during imaging of cardiovascular system. Conducting electrocardiogram, phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing and other cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity, using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices, and laboratory instruments. Preparing and position patients for testing. Adjusting equipment and controls according to physicians' orders or established protocol. Operating diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system Observing ultrasound display screen and listen to signals to record vascular information such as blood pressure, limb volume changes, oxygen saturation and cerebral circulation Activating fluoroscope and camera to produce images used to guide catheter through cardiovascular system Ability to scrub and assist in all adult and paediatric diagnostic and interventional cases including: percutaneous interventions, cardiac output measurements, permanent pacemakers, intra-vascular ultrasound, and pressure wire measurement (if applicable) Ability to record, measure and fully understand all hemodynamic principles including right and left heart catheterization, cardiac outputs, and full data analysis with appropriate optimal documentation of invasive cardiac procedure (if applicable) Performs advanced cardiac diagnostic techniques including Cardiac Echocardiography, Cardiac Stress testing and ambulatory procedures. Interprets and reports on various cardiac procedures. Performs pulsed and continuous wave Doppler studies. A thorough knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac haemodynamic principles including the underlying pathophysiologic principles of acquired or congenital lesions of the heart is required. Performs cardiac Stress Echo safe and efficient manner in accordance with established department protocols (if applicable). A sound knowledge of normal exercise physiology and the pathophysiologic spectrum of coronary artery disease. Entering factors such as amount and quality of radiation beam, and filming sequence, into computer. Assists physicians during Stress and Transesophageal Echo procedures. A thorough knowledge of normal and abnormal findings. Knowledge of emergency response to any problem that could occur (if applicable) Assist physicians with stress studies. Prepare patient for cardiac stress and perform test in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with established department protocols. Performs administrative duties involving inventory control as required and Identify and acquire the supply of equipment and other materials in a timely cost effective manner. Quality & Safety: Conducting daily or periodic checks and calibration of equipment. Recognize report and advice on discrepancies in performance and initiate remedial action in the light of this information. To ensure that the equipment is used in the correct manner to obtain optimum results. Updating patient examination history file, recording unusual conditions/limitations, documenting examination time, room number, and technique factors. Recording any relevant clinical information obtained from the patient during the course of the examination that may be of benefit to the consultant when producing the report. Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality control programs and procedures applicable. Applying standard precautions for infection control, using a series of interventions that minimize or prevent cross infection, including effective hand washing/cleansing when appropriate, particularly on entering and leaving clinical areas and between each patient. Maintaining and assisting in enforcing a high control over infection, safety and health regulations and making sure that all concerned parties follow the same. Maintaining and assisting in enforcing the strictest confidence in relation to patient information whether formally or informally recorded. Education: Mentoring and train other cardiology technologists and students. Explaining testing procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk moderate distances, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to physically bear difficult working conditions including: Unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level, exposure to heat and cold: Exposure to noisy machinery, high and low temperatures; Bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations: Must observe contact precautions, working hours significantly beyond regular schedule: Overtime and on-call as needed by the department.
