CH2M HILL Bridge Engineer Operations and Maintenance Doha Qatar



Job Purpose

Halcrow currently operates in a collaborative partnership with Carillion providing management of contractor services for the operation and maintenance of the Salwa Strategic Highway in Qatar. This is the first contract in the Middle East to introduce UK Highways Agency Managing Agent Contracts. We are helping Ashghal to meet its strategic aims and key objectives to contribute to sustainable development by maintaining operating and improving the strategic highway network in support of the Qatar government's transport and land use planning policies.

We have a vacancy for a Bridge Engineer working within the existing CH2M HILL team co0located with Carillion at their Salwa Road offices. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that structural maintenance targets are achieved and exceeded. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for records of inspections cleaning and maintenance actions to structures.

Responsibilities

The role requires the following duties

• Prepare structures work packages for routine maintenance and small schemes.


• Manage abnormal loads.


• Assist in scheme design.


• Liaise with the client Ashghal


• Produce structures programme for inspections and reports.


• Carry out inspections of all structures approx. 90 structures.


• Produce inspection reports


• Complete records of inspections.


• Identify sand clearance and maintenance actions to structures


• Development of structural maintenance procedures for Inspections


• Development of structural maintenance procedures for Planning


• Delivery of structures maintenance actions and ensuring structural maintenance targets are achieved

  • 3 to 7 years' experience in a highway bridges background working in a managementmaintenance organisation preferable
  
  
  • BS or MS graduate of an engineering discipline.
  
  
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer Status or equivalent
