Procurement and Contracts Lead

Job descriptionWe are currently recruiting for a Procurement and Contracts Lead on a long term residential livein basis located at our office in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide m anagement of all Procurement and Contracts activities undertaken on behalf of the client on a new Oil and Gas Facility. This is a Home Office position based in Abu Dhabi but it may involve occasional visits to the Client offices in Kurdistan. Normal working time will be 45 hours per week 9 hours per day. Note It is likely that first 2 – 4 weeks of the assignment will be based in client’s offices in Erbil. The project is the EPC phase of a new Oil Gas facility to be constructed incountry. Reporting to the Project Manager the candidate will lead and manage all Procurement and Contracts activities assigned to WGPSN on the Project. The role will also have a reporting line into the Client Supply Chain Manager. As a member of the WGPSN Project Management team contribute to the smooth and efficient running of project activities Establishes and directs the WGPSN Procurement and Contracts support team for the project. Create and Maintain a Procurement Status Report for the project. Selection and preparation of suitable suppliers and vendors lists. Preparation and Issue of RFQ Tender Documents Organise sealed bid openings in line with company procedures Lead and Manage preparation of commercial bid evaluations bid clarifications and negotiations. Lead and Manage collation of commercial and technical evaluations and preparation of joint recommendations Authorisation preparation and issue of PO’s Lead and manage field and desk expediting activities. Hold regular progress and performance meetings with all key suppliers and vendors. Monitor Supplier Performance to Identify and Investigate Poor Performance Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress andor delivery of equipment and recommend corrective actions as required Attend weekly progress meetings and procurement status reports for the Project Manager. Ensure timely close out of all PO’s Job Requirements Technical Business Skills Strong commitment to safety Experienced in working with SAP Maximo or similar systems Must be able to work to an agreed scope budget and schedule. An active listener with the ability to focus on customer requirements Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes. Must be eligible and willing to make occasional visits to Kurdistan Experience in working with multinational teams in an international environment. Interpersonal Skills Highly motivated and self reliant Confident and assertive Problem solver Open thinker and innovator Good communicator with a willingness to share knowledge and support others Flexible and adaptable Sound supervisory and organisational skills Fluent in both spoken and written English language. Competencies Must have experience of managing a procurement team. Must have Contracts and Procurement experience. Onshore Oil Gas experience. A proven team leader with wellestablished management skills Motivated proactive and ability to work on own initiative with minimal direction and guidance. Business Industry Experience Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry Experience of working with multinational and multicultural project teams is strongly preferred Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage Educational Attainments Undergraduate Degree is preferred however alternative qualifications will be considered i.e. HNC HND Membership of a recognised professional institute preferred Additional Details Why is WGPSN ‘where you want to be’?
