Wellsite Geologist for one offshore exploration well
Basic Function we considered for the wellsite geologist as mentioned below.
l Supervises and oversees mud logging operations carried out by Contractors. Includes providing the Contractors with general instructions for mud logging carrying out lithological inspection using microscopic observations and chemical analysis to determine drilling formation.
l Analyses and interprets rock samples at well site describes the lithology and identifies hydrocarbon and nonhydrocarbon contents using chemicals gas chromatography ultraviolet detectors and similar instruments and techniques. Prepares Rate of Penetration ROP and formation evaluation reports and passes findings to the Senior GeologistOperations Geologist.
l Supervises wireline logging surveys carried out by Contractors at well site. Includes providing Contractors with logging programs setting logging parameters of bore hole conditions to enable Contractors to calibrate and adjust equipment used checking and inspecting the calibration for each survey and preparing descriptions of lithological conditions for each formation. Interprets and evaluates various findings such as porosity water saturations lithology etc.
l Supervises coring activities in liaison with Drilling Supervisor. Includes preparing instructions for coring intervals preparing description of core covering lithology microstructure and hydrocarbon showing. Supervises the sampling of core including wrapping labelling packing and transportation.
l Carries out a variety of activities related to well evaluation. Includes log interpretations formation evaluation preparation of graphic log covering lithology drilling events logging survey coring testing etc.
l Experience of PreKhuff drilling
