Position Objective
The Technical Application Specialist reporting to the Global HLA Technical Support Manager is primarily responsible for providing technical support for Life Technologies' HLA Human Leukocyte Antigen products in the European market. Secondarily the chosen candidate will also provide technical support outside of Europe.
More specifically the TAS provides pre and postsales support to Life Technologies' HLA customers while adhering to quality regulations and standards including 21CFR part 820 and ISO 13485.
Essential Functions- Provide technical support on Life Technologies' HLA product lines primarily consisting of PCRbased and Sanger sequencingbased assays.
- Provide technical support to Life Technologies' HLA customers by responding to technical inquiries that are received via telephone email fax web mail or inperson.
- Record and manage customerplaints and inquiries relating to quality issues in accordance with quality regulations and standards including 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485.
- Collect and analyze data that will feed intoplaint investigations.
- Troubleshoot and offer solutions and advice to customers based on reportedplaints or inquiries.
- Arrange product replacements and participate in product recall activities as required.
- Work closely and collaborate with other HLA teams including RampD Product Management and Quality.
- Interact closely with the European HLA Sales and Field Support teams. Develop mechanisms to further engage and create awareness amongst these teams.
- Actively participate in routine meetings with the HLA Complaint Handling team.
- Assist the European HLA Sales and Field Support teams in coordinating and preparing for customer workshops both internal and external.
- Deliver presentations host training sessions and conduct webinars on Life Technologies' HLA products.
- Record and report customer feedback to the HLA business.
- Attend key HLA conferences in the region to represent Life Technologies.
- As needed participate in crossfunctional team projects for new product introductions.
- Perform other related duties as required andor assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Requires a B.Sc. in biology molecular biology immunology or similar field. An M.Sc. or Ph.D. is preferred but not required.
ExperienceRequirements- Minimum of 3 years experience working with molecular biology techniques preferably PCR and Sanger sequencing is required.
- Previous experience in the field of HLA is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working with medical devices as well as quality regulations and standards such as 21CFR part 820 and ISO 13485 is preferred.
- Previous experience with next generation sequencing is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Candidate must be fluent in the English language and would ideally be fluent in a second European language.

- Laboratory duties are performed standing and sitting and require the use of a wide array of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Hazardous and nonhazardous chemicals are utilized in the laboratory.
