A leading plastic processing company in the Gulf region seeks to hire a plastic processing expert with solid academic background as well as adequate experience and track record in technical and business aspects of the field.nbspnbsp The position will assist the parent company in strategic amp business planning and implementation of technical programs for its core polymer processing business leading to improving efficiency achieving growth and attaining organizational goals with competitive returns.

Employer amp Position

Our client headquartered in Kuwait is active among other businesses in the field of plastic processing.nbsp It has three operating subsidiaries in Kuwait Saudi Arabia and Oman for the production of plastic sheets and pipes.nbsp The company is in the process of harmonizing and optimizing the operations of its plastic processing subsidiaries and further developing the business.nbsp Toward that end the company plans to set up a Plastic Business Unit at its headquarters.nbsp The proposed position is for the director of this unit.nbsp The position will report to the general manager.

Responsibilities

• Review existing operations product mix markets operating systems supply chain potential synergy of the existing facilities possibly leading to rearrangement of production locations for various products management and manpower with a view to make the operations more efficient and make recommendations and propose plans.


• Supervise operations of the plastic processing subsidiaries of the company and direct their activities while capitalizing on any potential synergies.


• Advise on expansion of the business through acquisition or new ventures and coordinate and supervise the implementation of the approved expansion projects.


• Supervise implementation of the agreed plan of action to achieve the companyacirc128153s goals.


• Ensure plastic processing subsidiaries remain technically acirc128152fit for purposeacirc128153 meeting requirements of the business.


• Introduce best practices and procedures relevant to the subsidiariesacirc128153 business to drive overall performance improvement.


• Lead in managing innovation and product development in liaison with marketing and sales units of the subsidiaries.
  
  
  

  Knowledge and Skills

  
  

  
  
  • Bachelor degree in chemistry technology or engineering in polymers related discipline.nbsp A graduate degree in the same fields or better an MBA or CFA is preferred.
  
  
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in plastic processing.nbsp Experience with international companies and leading companies in the Gulf area is preferred.
  
  
  • Knowledge of the plastics dynamics drivers and markets is essential.
