In a pioneering international initiative Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical College established the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar WCMCQ through a unique partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development and has been in operation since 2002.
Dr. Mesaeli's laboratory at WCMCQ invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of cardiovascular development and diabetes. The candidate will apply Molecular Cell Biology techniques to examine the mechanism of regulation of Annexin A2 and its role in diabetic retinopathy.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or M.D.Ph.D. degree in Cardiovascular Molecular Biology or a closely related field. Prior experience with working in Vascular Biology field with extensive expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques is a requirement. Ability to work with transgenic mice will be an asset. A proven record of publication and evidence of clearmunication skill is also essential.
WCMCQ is located in Education City among other American universities in Doha Qatar which is a rapidly growing research hub. The WCMCQ research program offers a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment endowed with aprehensive support infrastructure.
