Job Description
Technical Services Engineer ndash Systems Reliability
Overall Role PurposeTo assist the Technical Services Manager and thus ensure that DHL Aviation EMA has a comprehensive Reliability Control Program with continued airworthiness aircraft systems support in compliance with Part M requirements.
Specific Role ContextTechnical Services provides engineering assistance to aircraft production in the form of troubleshooting systems defects and liaison with the aircraft manufacturer. The department assesses technical documentation which is received from airworthiness authorities manufacturers or vendors.
Specific Role ChallengesTo assist the Technical Services Manager and thus ensure that DHL Aviation EMA has a comprehensive Reliability Control Program with continued airworthiness aircraft systems support in compliance with Part M requirements.
Accountabilities
Key activities
To ensure that DHL Aviation has an aircraft reliability program as required by FAA EASA requirements acceptable to the GACA and BCAA.
Monitor inspection findings arising from scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and ensure revisions to the Aircraft Maintenance Program are embodied.
Liaise with vendors.
Monitor and control repetitive defects in liaison with other Tech Services Engineers.
Evaluate unserviceable components and parts determine corrective actions and issue technical directivesnotices and workshop repair orders.
Evaluate teardown reports and trends corrective actions overhaul reports from repair overhaul vendors and suppliers.
Collect compile and analyze data and provide accurate reports detailing recommendations for action by the department affected.
Compile and analyze reliability data for incorporation into the reliability program ndash initiate reliability alert.
Advance warranty claims on unserviceable components with the support of Logistics department.
Research maintenance data to initiate changes in the maintenance program to improve reliability.
Research engineering data to recommend improvements to systems and components.
Calculate aircraft reliability performance parameters such as Mean Time between Failure MTBF and Mean Time between Unscheduled Removals MTBUR from reliability databases.
Perform failure root cause and corrective action analysis
Evaluate non routine discrepancies from Line and Base Maintenance for applicability and effectiveness of maintenance program.
Audit non routine discrepancies for completeness and proper ATA coding.
Provide engineering support to maintain continued airworthiness of aircraft and identify solutions to improve aircraft reliability.
Develop technical procedures and prepare engineering orderswork orders to address and correct aircraft reliability issues.
Coordinates alerted investigations of significant technical problems systems and components.
Tracks development of appropriate corrective action program.
Proposes to the Reliability Control Board tasks andor intervals which may be safely eliminated modified or extended.
Provides feedback to Maintenance QA Technical Services Operations and the Reliability Control Board.
Maintains record of corrective actions.
Continually makes effect to maintain high quality data.
Performs research attempting to discover degrading trends before a problem becomes significant.
Notifies the Reliability Control Board of any changes needed for improvements to the Reliability ProcessProgram.
Aircraft Systems Technical Support on troubleshooting issues by liaison with OEMs and Aircraft Manufacturer.
Provide technical and advisory support to the Maintenance Quality Department Stores and Flight Operations Departments.
The assessments and analysis of Manufacturerrsquos Alert Service Bulletins Service Bulletins Service Letters and Fleet Team Digest notifications and making recommendations concerning the enhancement of aircraft systems reliability.
The assessments and analysis of Airworthiness Directives issued by the Federal Aviation Administration or other related Airworthiness Authorities.
Liaise with vendors and Civil Aviation Authorities.
Any reasonable request from DHL Management.
Process
Fully conversant with aircraft regulatory requirements and maintenance documentation
Full understanding of aircraft powerplant systems and components
Must be able to troubleshoot Aircraft systems
Evaluate and research repairs alterations and other maintenance prior to those projects being issue as work packages and supervise those projects.
Evaluate teardown reports corrective actions overhaul reports from repair overhaul vendors and suppliers when required.
Review and assess incoming Airworthiness Directives the Manufacturerrsquos Alert Service Bulletins Service bulletins Service Letters and Fleet Team Digests. Maintain and revise the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Programs.
Assist with the renewal of aircraft Certificates of Airworthiness Registration Radio Station Licences and Mechanic Certificates.
Expected years of experienceMinimum of 3 years experience of Technical services Reliability Engineering.
Educational Qualifications The Technical Services Systems Reliability Engineer will be a graduate or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
Skills
Should have experience with the Microsoft Office suite of software particularly Powerpoint and Excel
Experience using My Boeing Fleet is essential. Experience using Rolls Royce Aeromanager application would be an advantage
Experience with the Trax Maintenance system or other similar maintenance software would be an advantage
