ABOUT THE EMPLOYER THE CAMALI STORY: Psychiatrist Wife + Husband + Friends + Psychiatric Nurse = Camali Clinic. That is how our journey began. Omar Mehanna, a banker guilt ridden by his lack of social contribution was intrigued by his wife's, Dr Nadia Dabbagh’s, profession as a child and adolescent psychiatrist and the nature of fragmented mental health care in the UAE and the region. The vision was to establish a centre of excellence providing truly multi-disciplinary holistic child and adolescent mental health services. Camali' comes from the Arabic word for 'completeness' to reflect this approach. The proposition was promptly embraced by others with similar mind sets, Ayman Abdel Hadi and Maher Mansour, and a Maudsley-trained psychiatric nurse manager Katie Laing who was working in Dubai. Collectively Camali Clinic was brought to life. We are very proud of our team and are confident of their abilities to make the Camali Clinic vision come true. We are very grateful to Sandy Attia at Modus Architects and to our building contractors, Joseph Charles and his team at Pinnacle Interiors, who have worked tirelessly to build what we believe is a unique site in Dubai and the UAE. We have a clear picture of where we are heading on our journey. We intend to provide a world class service and overcome the barriers and social stigmas surrounding mental health. That's our role.
