Clinical Psychologist - Child, Adolescent & Family Service – Camali
INTRODUCTION Global Medical Recruiting seeking qualified and experienced candidates on behalf of the Child & Adolescent & Family Service Development Project at the Camali Clinic. Clinic located in Dubai UAE. The aim of the project is to provide coordinated high quality, multi-disciplinary mental health services to children and young people. Clinical experience with children and adolescents a requirement in order to be considered for this vacancies. UK qualified (or alternatively Western qualified) applicants invited to apply JOB SPECIFICATION The Child & Adolescent Mental Health & Family Service aim is, to provide coordinated, high quality, multi-disciplinary mental health services to children and young people. The service provides assessment and treatment to babies, children, young people and their families from 0 – 18 years, who presents with mild to complex mental health and emotional difficulties who reside in the United Arab Emirates Dubai. The clinic aims to provide a tier 2 and 3 services with an outlook to expand, including a day hospital and tier 4 in patient provision. The post holder will provide specialist mental health service to children, young people and assessment, development and implementation of specialist psychological interventions. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within a multi disciplinary team. This will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management. Their professional practice will be accounted for through appraisal and audit. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as the service will operate from 8am – 8pm, including Saturdays. 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities Clinical responsibilities: To provide specialist assessment including risk assessment and evidence based treatment of children, adolescents and their families with complex mental health problems, based on having an in-depth knowledge of child development, family transition points and child and adolescent disorders. Provision of a clinical service with high levels skills of assessment of complex clinical situations; assimilating information collected bythe multidisciplinary team. To be able to assess and provide appropriate format of intervention such as: individual, family or group work. To work as a competent practitioner providing clinically effective and therapeutic treatment interventions for young people. To work as an autonomous practitioner and where appropriate work jointly with multidisciplinary colleagues. To manage a caseload in relation to children, young people and families with complex mental health needs. To be able to assess, plan, trea and evaluate both short and long term therapeutic interventions using appropriate models within an ethical framework. To collaborate with parents in assessment and plan care with sensitivity to complex issues. To liaise with other professional agencies in contact with the young person, to communicate with these professional agencies in line with consent, information sharing and confidentiality policies. To recognize child protection issues and adhere to policy and procedure identified within the clinic. To manage own caseload using clinical supervision and collaborative teamwork to help within this process. Policy and Service Development: To keep accurate records of clinical work following internal policy and guidelines and to supply written reports as appropriate. To bring to the attention of the service lead Consultant, situations which cannot be adequately supported or managed. To lead on an area of development or service delivery as appropriate as in agreement with the lead Consultant. To adhere to local policy and procedure. To keep abreast of and participate in current/future trends in child and adolescent mental heath. Training and Development: To be part of relevant teaching programs which takes place within the service. To be responsible for identification of own needs for professional development, training, maintaining professional registration and to discuss with clinical supervisor. To attend regular clinical supervision as agreed. To participate in the clinics Appraisal and be committed to ongoing Professional Development. To perform all duties in a professional manner and to follow the Code of Professional Conduct applicable to your profession. Clinical Governance: To be actively involved with the audit process and the evaluations and monitoring of personal work and the work of the service. To be aware of the up-to-date research and evidence relating to the care and treatment of children and young people with mental health problems. To be involved in audit and research projects undertaken by the team. ABOUT GLOBAL MEDICAL RECRUITING. The afore-mentioned is paid directly to the relevant supplier of the service for ex medical/bloodtest fees will be paid to the relevant physician/medical practice you chose and used and NOT to Global Medical Recruiting. Requirements regarding the afore-mentioned documentation differs from hospital to hospital and between countries 7. Assist you with Verification / Credentialing (Clinical Staff) and all recruitment requirements. 8. Liaise with the employer regarding issuing of your entry visa into the country. 9. Advise you on when it is safe to resign. 10. Book your flight and meet & greet at the airport. 11. Be in contact with your after you start at your new employer and assist with any problems / further requirements. ABOUT THE EMPLOYER The Camali Clinic is located in Dubai UAE. The patient population will be aimed at both local residents and expatriates. The service will be Consultant led, within a multi-disciplinary team framework. The service will adopt a bio-psycho-social approach to the care and treatment of young people. The service aims to provide assessment and treatment to babies, children, young people and their families from 0 – 18 years, who presents with mild to complex mental health and emotional difficulties who reside in the United Arab Emirate. The team members will be highly skilled within their chosen profession and able to recognize and respect the values, beliefs, customs and language of Dubai’s culturally rich and diverse population. Cases to be treated: Mood difficulties, Anxiety disorders, Attachment Issues, Self Esteem difficulties, Phobias, OCD, Transitional adjustment difficulties, Trauma, Loss & Bereavement, Emotional difficulties related to school e.g bullying, Mild to moderate behavioural difficulties, Social skills deficits, Mild to moderate self-harm, School refusal, Anger management, PTSD, Drug & alcohol, Nocturnal Enuresis, Autism / Aspergers, ADHD, Eating disorders, Severe self-harm and suicidal risk, Psychosis, Conduct disorder, Severe depression, Bipolar affective disorder, Sleeping, feeding and behavioural difficulties in under 5 years that result in severe disruption of family life and development, Genetic syndromes, Psychosomatic conditions, Learning difficulties. All treatment will be evidenced based according to the NICE guidelines and will include: Medication prescribing & monitoring, Applied Behavioural Analaysis, Psychological Intervention, Family Therapy, Speech and Language Assessment and Treatment, Occupational Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family therapy and family-based interventions, Mindfulness, Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Behavioural Therapy, Psychoeducation. The service has two main aims: Provide assessment to children and adolescents where there is neuropsychiatric disorder, or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Offer intervention when indicated following the assessment of child/adolescent and their families where there is a diagnosis and their symptoms are impairing on their functioning within their social, educational or family environment.
