ABA ROLI is a nonprofit pro­gram that implements legal reform programs in over 60 countries around the world.  ABA ROLI has nearly 700 professional staff work­ing abroad and in its Washington D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges lawyers bar associations law schools court administrators legislatures ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi­zations including human rights groups. 

JOB SUMMARY

The ProsecutionSexual and Gender Based Violence SGBV Program Director will be posted in Egypt for approximately sixteen months.  The Program Director will coordinate an ABA ROLI program focused on building skills and knowledge of prosecutors in general and specifically in the area of SGBV.

The Director will assist local partners in developing and implementing training modules on a range of topics.  The Director may also teach some training sessions on topics such as prosecutorial skills andor relating to investigation and prosecution of sexual and gender based violence issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a strategic plan for building prosecutorial knowledge and skills
• Provide comparative approaches on  prosecutorial training approaches
• Design and conduct trainings on interactive teaching techniques and on advanced teaching skills including training on teaching relating to the investigation and prosecution of SGBV cases
• Develop and deliver a series of workshops for prosecutors to enhance their core skills and
• Assist in the development and delivery of a series of workshops for prosecutors to enhance their skills and substantive knowledge relating to the investigation and prosecution of SGBV cases.

• QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have JD and at least 710 years of relevant legal experience
  • Expertise in prosecuting cases experience in training of prosecutors preferred
  • Expertise in sexual and gender based violence
  • Prior experience implementing US government technical assistance programs and training programs preferred and
  • Must have the expertise necessary to consult with diverse legal stakeholders.
