Senior Systems Engineer Windows

The Senior Systems Engineer will provide comprehensive maintenance administration monitoring and support of all Microsoft based systems especially Active Directory Messaging

and Infrastructure Services based systems. This includes the hardware platforms operating systems environment configuration infrastructure and middleware tools data bases security and access.



Key Accountabilities

• Ensure proper maintenance configuration and quality of systems including cluster

configuration messaging flows and controls directory services and group policies.

• Install and maintain support and diagnostic software tools for key systems including

Messaging Active Directory amp Infrastructure Services and Clustering.

• Proficiency and experience in a combination of Exchange 2007 Messaging Business

Continuity amp Availability Messaging Consolidation Secure Messaging Messaging

Archiving Messaging Shared Services Mobile Messaging Office Communications Server

ADSI and Exchange scripting Windows Active Directory.

• Good understanding of other messaging related technologies like antivirus antispam

archiving web mail and security policy.

• Good knowledge about Storage Networking SAN NAS.

• Monitor and provide proactive maintenance of overall system performance by way of

capacity and availability management including management reports with monthly and

quarterly performance statistics.

• Understand and follow the Incident and Change Management Processes implemented.

• Keep your skills up to date and abreast of new products and technologies in the areas of

Windows systems especially Messaging amp Collaboration Infrastructure amp Directory Services

Proxy and Security systems.

• Development of technical standards and solutions. Develop and maintain system

documentation.

• Identify all systemrelated files to ensure full backup and recovery capabilities according to

required compliance requirements.

• Identify areas that can be automated monitoring failures and identify recovery from failures

to allow lightsout operation.

• Security reviews of server logs for potential issues and breaches and recommendations to

address any gaps. System hardening to reduce exposures to known errors legacy applications

and protocols.

• Integration of proxy internet filtering and active directory systems for simpler system

operations.

• Provides troubleshooting and optimization for technical problems within several infrastructure

areas.

• A university degree coupled with solid technology experience.

• Candidates for this role should have 3 years' of relevant experience across multiple

technical disciplines in design implementation and support streams of the technology.

• Microsoft Certified Current 2003.

• Experience with implementing or supporting largescale IT operations of at least 150 servers.

• Broad knowledge of relevant technologies and how they can be applied practically to solve

business problems.

• Familiarity with Microsoft’s core products and ISV BestofBreed solutions and how they

can be leveraged into business solutions.

• Design amp Implementation experience with Active Directory and Exchange.

• Support experience with BlueCoat and Websense products especially proxy and internet

filtering.

• Self motivated eager to learn and progress career in IT.

• Ability to creatively apply technology and existing solutions to meet business requirements.

• Team player must be able to work with people within and outside of the IT department.

• Customer service focused.

• Strong organizational and analytical and skills.

• Excellent communication skills verbal written and presentation.
