Mechanical Piping Project Engineer

We are working with a leading Oil amp Gas operator in the Qatar who are on the lookout for a Mechanical Piping Project Engineer on a staff basis. This will be a full time staff opportunity and will offer an excellent tax free expat package.



PRIMARY PURPOSE



The mechanicalpiping project engineer is responsible for safely delivering mechanical and piping systems projects in compliance with design basis budget and schedule. Projects are executed in compliance with existing process risk management guidelines. He or she promotes a professional attitude to the discipline sets standards and functionally accepts responsibility.



ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Actively contribute to departmental and organizational goals.

Develop cost effective multidiscipline project solutions.

Work with discipline specialists and all stakeholders to develop project execution plans.

Develop robust cost estimates and execution schedules.

Manages a successful project execution using in house and external contracted resources from initiation to closeout.

Proactively ensures compliance with process risk management program.

Arrange and supervise offshore surveys discuss findings with offshore personnel and report findings recommendations and actions.

Ensure international codes and code compliance.

Proactively promote the development and compilation of facilities technical information.

Monitor technology advances and raises opportunities to implement those which benefit the organization.

Play a key role in Management of Change.

Play a key role in improving and enhancing engineering contract definition.

Support preliminary feed or study activities.

Promote the development and use of material supply agreements.

Promote the development and use of approved supplier lists.

Manage all project interfaces between vendors engineering amp construction during construction phase.

Prepare project close out reports following completion.

Ensure that inherent safety in design is maintained. Help to foster a good safety culture within facilities engineering group.



Education



Engineering at degree level or equivalent is preferred although lesser qualified candidates with extensiverelevant experience in lieu of qualification may be considered



ProfessionalTechnical Knowledge



Candidates require a technical background within hisher discipline supplemented by proven project engineering skills.

Good presentation communication and written skills. Logic thinking and analytical skills are required.



ProfessionalTechnical QualificationsLicensesCertifications



A Chartered engineer is preferred supplemented by a recognised project engineering qualification PMP



Experience



5 7 years experience in oil amp gas mechanicalpiping engineering activities together with an additional 3 5 years project engineering experience.
