Job Description
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Supervision of Subordinates Organise and supervise the activities and work of RM and PM Technicians to ensure that all work within the specific area of incoming materials is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy. Ensure incoming raw and packaging materials are analysed in time and materials meeting the specs are released for use. Audit of compliance versus procedure and policy. Cost efficiency of the area. Continuous Improvement Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the supply chain systems processes and practices taking into account âinternational best practiceâ improvement of business processes cost reduction and productivity improvement. Number and quality of improvements are line with corporate expectations and implemented. MIS Reports Prepare MIS statements and reports pertaining to raw and Packaging materials timely and accurately to meet company requirements policies and standards. Communicating noncompliances to supplier through corporate QA All incoming Materials statements and reports are prepared timely and accurately. Food Safety Quality Safety Environment Ensure all relevant safety food safety quality and environmental policies procedures and controls are communicated to the supplier. Ensure all RM PM specs are defined approved and communicated to procurement CQA Frequency of materials noncompliance with food safety quality safety and environmental policies and procedures. Cost Control Identify and facilitate raw material and packaging cost improvement opportunities throughout the business as required. Effective implementation of cost cutting measures. Materials control Framework Guide all assignments through a systematic development process thereby ensuring product quality appropriate project prioritization and resource allocation. Manager feedback. Packaging Standards Verify and followup implementations of inspection plans in order to ensure that all products are appropriately packaged as per quality and safety requirements. Ensure that company packaging standards meets packaging regulations set by the relevant agencies that govern safety of products in order to avoid any hazardous incidents. Number of inspection plans. Company productsâ packaging meets regulations. Documentation and record keeping Control the utilization handling and storage of materials records and keep a copy of national international quality standards and other referential specifications to maintain the necessary documentation incase of future requirements. Maintain approved art works Maintain approved supplier list Ease and convenience of documents and records retrieval. PrePackage Study the physical dimensions and handling requirements of products in order to produce optimal packaging. Undertake the required research analyses and initiatives in order to define packaging requirements and specification for products. Sketch plans computerized designs and make sample of the package in order to receive the approvals required. All steps for pre package phase of package development are adhered to. Testing Package After developing prototype undertake the necessary simulated conditions tests in order to ensure the packaging withstands them and is fit for use. Work closely with Engineering production department for development of packaging specifications. Test result. Manager Feedback. Supplier Audit Plan and conduct supplier audits if required to ensure supplier facility meets the requirements Supplier audit reports FRAMEWORKS BOUNDARIES DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY Set procedures and implementation of effective incoming materials analysis Coordinate in Plant Training Programs. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE SKILLS Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree or Post Graduate in Material science Food Science Food Technology Chemistry Minimum Experience At least 5 Years of relevant experience in FMCG raw and packaging material management systems JobSpecific Skills Excellent communication skills.
