We are seeking a Rail Design Manager with a structures background to join a leading European multidisciplinary Consultancy in Qatar. This leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Rail Design Manager to lead a team with a structures background for the Design and construction supervision of several underground railway stations viaducts steel structures on one of the most prestigious railway metro projects in the Middle East at the moment. Job Role Responsibilities To undertake the day to day construction management of project works in terms of safety quality environment engineering design compliance commissioning functionality and programme. This will involve the management of Contractors subcontractors and implementing processes to control the delivery of the works. Should significant issues be encountered these will be escalated to the Project Director and project team to ensure they're resolved in a timely manner. Key Accountabilities Lead motivate and manage the railway team and engineers. Act as a rolemodel for them in terms of behaviours and values and mentor their professional development. Undertake the design management and or supervision of project works as well as coordination between the design construction teams associated with this railway project. Comply with construction management processes and effectively implement them. Apply a consistent approach to construction management implementation of processes and the management of contractors and subcontractors. Undertake appropriate liaison with the Project Director about the underground stations and state of works. Evaluate the progress on site against the programme and agreed milestones. Use this information to provide accurate updates to the project team and agreed reporting lines. Assist the Project Manager for the project works in the review of Work Package Plans Task Briefing Sheets commissioning plans and other project documentation. Undertake or arrange for others to undertake suitable inspections audits for the project works being managed in regard to safety quality environment engineering design compliance functionality and commissioning. Requirements B Eng M Sc in Civil engineering or Structural engineering with emphasis on railways Extensive exposure and professional experience in the field of design of underground stations depots Broad knowledge of the civil components of a railway stations viaducts integration system Track Excellent command of English able to conduct business fluently spoken and written Open to taking on new challenges establishing structures and actively shaping events High level of intercultural ability communication skills and empathy Team player mentality and flexibility Excellent selforganization high level of motivation and ability to work under pressure Advanced entrepreneurial skills Salary Package10000 11000 per month including accommodation family status flights demobilisation and mobilisation ewi is an international consultancy focused on the search selection of the worlds leading engineering and construction professionals.
