Job descriptionThe process engineer shall contribute to the common objectives of the Process engineering namelyDefine concepts develop engineering designs purchase equipment and assist in offshore commissioning for brown field modifications to existing facilities.Act as project engineer for assigned brown field projects.Provide support and trouble shooting assistance to the production and maintenance departments.Support the site teams in the review of EPIC contractor designs and develop and monitor interface design between new and old facilities.Participate in the review and development of commissioning and operating procedures for the new facilities.Develop tiein of new facilities within FDPs to ensure integrity and safe operation.Coordinate and participate in safety related studies.Through these activities the process engineer contributes to the ultimate objective of producing oil in a safe manner at the planned rate without unscheduled interruptions.We Offer Maersk Oil Qatar AS offers a wide range of education and career opportunities for employees possessing necessary skills and competencies.We offer competitive salary with family status and relocation to Doha if required.Key ResponsiblitiesIn the execution of your work the process engineer shall1.Comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company procedures both onshore and offshore.2.Ensure that in all matters safety economical and technical assessments are made due diligence is observed and initiative taken to secure the best economical results.3.Ensure that all information both written and spoken obtained in the course of the work is handled with confidentiality.4.Ensure that the work is carried out in a professional manner and in compliance with applicable contracts Company policies values and relevant laws and regulations.5.Actively monitor work progress such that risks and problem areas are identified reported and solutions identified.6.Plan and execute assigned projects and tasks.7.Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility.8.Identify areas of technical innovation that can improve Company safety profitability or reliability.9.Undertake any other work and responsibilities as per separate instruction.Specific DutiesThe duties shall furthermore include the following1.Execute process engineering studies.2.Responsible for the regular update of key process documents and simulation models e.g. PIDs CEs firewater models flare and blowdown models.3.Contribute to development of Functional Design Specification for new FDPs.4.Ensure technical compliance and suitability of equipment by PID review and Vendor document review as applicable.5.Prepare concept packages for submittal to Detailed Design Engineering DDE staff for execution.6.Coordinate with DDE staff to ensure efficient development of detailed design packages and resolution to any issues identified during the design work.7.Provide project management of brown field projects to ensure engineering construction and commissioning on schedule and within budget. Coordinate involvement with other departments external fabricators etc. as required.8.Review detailed design engineering drawings and other technical documents to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and design objectives.9.Obtain 3rd party design approval from authorities in matters related to design verification.10.Liaise and coordinate with Operations to ensure visibility of all changes to operational assets as a result of brown field projects.11.Provide support to Operations and participate in troubleshooting and production optimisation exercises.12.Provide assistance as required to ensure an efficient handling of asbuilt updates.13.Participate in multidiscipline and interdepartmental workshops and task forces.14.Prepare response to technical queries from vendors and contractors and from other Company departments.15.Establish and manage a professional relationship with Vendors to ensure provision of deliverables services and professional expertise in due time. Mobilize Vendors for offshore work as and when required.16.Manage operational asset technical changes by adherence to internal “Management of Change” procedures and observe due diligence to ensure a high degree of asset integrity. 17.Participate in the development of MOQ asset procedures and guidelines for design and selection of process related equipment and systems.18.Participate in the review and development of commissioning procedures and operating procedures for new facilities. Assist in offshore commissioning.19.Perform periodic offshore inspection visits in relation to the design of offshore modifications and tiein of new facilities.20.Maintain a sound understanding and knowledge of process simulation and calculation programs.21.Coordinate and participate in process safety related reviews HAZOP HAZID.22.Participate in offshore safety audits as required.23.Maintain a sound understanding and knowledge of current versions of applicable codes standards and design guidelines.Who we are looking forUniversity degree in chemical or mechanical process engineering.
