Introduction/ Background As part of the hospital's strategy is to implement fully integrated clinical and business solutions, the Integration and Innovation Team (sub-division of Application Revenue Cycle and Integration Team) intends to conduct thorough and extensive testing of all hospital solutions prior to the opening of inpatient services. Job Summary The Test Lead – Integration and Innovation, is responsible for the leading and executing the Analysis, Scripting, and Testing and of all system interfaces and applications developed, supported and integrated by the Integration and Innovation team. The Test Lead is required to maintain the Test Strategy and will be responsible for the execution and schedule to meet the business needs of the organization. The Test Lead must have a solid background in testing IT solutions, in a healthcare industry setting. The Test Lead shall analyze complex solutions, create test data, develop and review test scripts for both functional and non-functional requirements, execute and manage test cycles and prepare test documentation and evidence to meet the business needs of the organization. The Test Lead shall manage and maintain the test schedule against the constantly changing priorities of the organization and ensure that test activities are completed on schedule. Solutions and Interfaces under test include Cerner, Clinical Systems, ERP Solutions, Patient Kiosks, and Mobile Applications. While this list is not exhaustive it is representative of the variety of solutions to be tested. Technical Competency Experienced and proficiency in standard integration messaging structures including HL7, X-12 and other healthcare integrations, and communication protocols. Experienced in software development using web and mobile technologies. Aware of software and network security principles when applied to Healthcare IT. Experience of managing junior team members and strong relationship building and influencing skills with all stakeholders and management. ISTQB Certified to Advanced Level (or similar qualification). Demonstrated experience in system integration and application testing and delivery in complex environments. Ability to perform complex problem and structure analysis, identify issues, recommend solutions, formulate work scope, and provide accurate estimates. Proven technical documentation skills and experience. Experience with formulating technical unit test as well as end to end integration test strategies and plans. Demonstrated knowledge of Clinical Healthcare in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Must be self-directed and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work and contribute value in a collaborative team environment. Strong familiarity and experience with business processes and data flows in healthcare delivery settings, including knowledge of XML, X12, EDIFACT, DFT, Supply Chain, ADT, Order Results, and Bill transaction sets, is highly desirable. Must be detailed oriented, organized and have strong multitasking ability. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience of working in Agile teams using Agile processes, preferably as a Scrum Master. Progressive experience in a healthcare IT environment is required. Strong coordination, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills. Design and develop complex documents in line with guidelines and professional requirements. Maintain own technical currency. Key Role Activities: Plan, manage and execute the entire test life cycle. Identification of opportunities for process improvements for existing and new interfaces and applications. Working with upstream and downstream application owners and the technical analyst as well as business staff to formulate and execute thorough integrated system test plans. Supporting hospital activation and go-live events. Mentorship of more junior team members. Contributes to communication plans (correspondence, presentations, and other materials) for knowledge transfer to leadership and peers. Maintenance of the Test Strategy in conjunction with management and peers. Provides recommendations for improvements, enhancements and innovations in assigned area to support high quality patient care, and research. Conducts job duties and responsibilities according to the organization’s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Responsibility for testing system to system interfaces. Responsibility for testing solutions developed, supported and integrated by the Integration team. Develops and reviews test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements. Executes and maintains test plans, test cases, test data, and test scripts. Ownership of the Defect Management processes from start to finish. Conducts solution testing and guides end users through complex application functionality. Adheres to hospital’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest.
