The BioMed X Innovation Center constitutes a novel way of collaboration at the interface between academia and industry. Young life science talents from all over the world are working jointly on preclinical research topics in the fields of biomedicine molecular biology cell biology and chemoinformatics. Interdisciplinary project teams are collaborating in an openinnovation lab facility on the campus of the University of Heidelberg with guidance of experienced mentors from academia and industry while expanding their scientific network and receiving an intensive entrepreneurship and leadership training.What we are looking for

The IMT research group at the BioMed X Innovation Center is exploring the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment specifically addressing the role of myeloidderived suppressor cells MDSC tumor associated macrophages TAM immature dendritic cells iDC and their mechanisms leading to immunosuppression. The final goal is to apply methods for the identification of new targets for cancer immunotherapy. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and are expected to have a solid track record in the field of tumor immunology in particular with MDSC TAM and iDC. Candidates with significant experience in isolation cultivation and analysis of these cell types FACS MACS sorting ELISPOT and cell migration assays will be preferred.What we offer
The post is offered for an initial term of two years with the possibility of prolongation for up to two additional years and an option for a permanent position.
As part of the research group in the above mentioned field the post includes a generous funding package covering personal salary consumables services travels as well as access to the core facilities of neighboring research institutions and biotechnologypanies in Heidelberg.There is flexibility over starting dates but successful applicants are anticipated to take up post by March 1st 2014.
